ABOUT ME

I've lived in and enjoyed the Texas Hill Country for 20+ years now. This summer, I celebrated 9 years of marriage with my best friend and husband. We share a love for our two very spoiled German Shepherds. They love taking us for hikes at local state parks.

EDUCATION BACKGROUND: I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University in San Marcos. My focus and passion is Special Education, but I am also certified in General Education (EC-6th) and ESL. I'm also G.T. Trained. I have experience working with children 3 years through 12th grade with various, unique abilities and backgrounds. Each child I've taught has left a lasting impression on my heart and has inspired me to grow as a teacher and human being.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Every child deserves to learn in an environment that is safe, accepting, and adapts to their learning style, interests, and individual needs. Every child is capable of achieving success, and I'm honored to help maximize their possibilities to succeed. Children build meaning and understanding through full participation in their learning environments as active learners. My goal is to structure learning so that it is relevant, child-centered, and playful. As a teacher, my role is to encourage students' curiousity, guide their explorations, motivate them to be life-long learners, and help them build their "thinking tools." I take my role and responsibilities to heart and enjoy every second of my awesome job. Thank you for letting me "borrow" your precious child for the school day!
